This morning a friend called and without so much as a how-d'ya-do, said, "Did you see that?"
"See what?" I asked. My mind, trained as it has been by the media we all watch, shifted into catastrophic-gear.

Since then, we've had 9/11, The Patriot Act, Guantanamo Bay, yellow, orange, and red-alerts, the stock market crash and the unwarranted bailouts of multi-billionaires.

This is our first series of blog postings. We're glad you found us and look forward to your comments and dialogue on the issues we raise here. We'll be covering a wide range of topics–from the news of the day to the continuing problems generated by viral fear, from the insidious influence of Madison Avenue to the alternatives in medicine, power technologies, and thinking they don't want you to see. Some of what we talk about will be a bit contentious, some will be downright incendiary, and some we pray will be deeply comforting. We hope, however, that it will always be interesting and it will always make us think. Because thinking is the antidote to Viral Fear.
